Hi! My name is Lissa Mathieu and I am a Haitian Plus-Size lady living in NYC. I am also Christian, a Worship leader and an aspiring Plus Size model.

For as long as I could remember, I’ve struggled with self-confidence because of my size and skin complexion. I wasn’t always like that, but somehow over the course of years, I started losing pieces of myself and slowly my confidence drifted away. It reflected in the way I carried myself, the way I dressed and even the way I interacted with others. I can’t remember exactly when I started discovering fashion blogs but I felt so empowered to see plus-size women of all shapes and sizes share their style, their struggles, own their flaws and dress fashionably.

Many of those blogs helped me re-gain self-confidence while building my own style. As I was trying out trends and outfits that worked for my body, unbeknownst to me I was planting seeds of confidence in women around me. Whether on the street or at church, they would compliment me on how well I dressed for my size, ask for fashion tips or even where I shopped. Something sparked a desire for me to share more and help other plus-size women discover their own style.

Just like these fashion blogs have inspired me, I also wanted to inspire them to look and feel good in their clothes, while emphasizing on modesty and elegance. I wanted them to no longer be intimidated by other women’s confidence and style, but rather build their own by making outfits work for their body type. I wanted them to no longer be afraid of wearing colors and patterns. I struggled greatly with the thought of starting a fashion blog because there are enough plus-size fashion blogs out there but as I have experienced, not all blogs are relatable. Such was the case for me, so that made me realize that even if all are not going to be inspired by what you do, a few certainly will. I wanted to empower these 'few', so this is why I decided to do it.

We all come in different shapes, sizes and forms. Even in the plus size world, not all girls are built equal. But it doesn’t take away from who we are. God created us with a little extra greatness __and that’s alright!

I pray this blog encourages many and builds up plenty of you. I pray, every time you log on, each outfit inspiration reminds you that YOU make the clothes, and not the other way around. And lastly, I pray each post inspires you to dress your best, as women of dignity and worth! And that, ladies, is how you want to be remembered.

I hope to get well acquainted with you all through this blog and I can't wait to share more with you!

Until then,

Lissa M.
